Career Guidance for Students
Are you a student concerned about subject choice, college / course choice, submitting your CAO or simply overwhelmed by what to do after school?
Students who wish to avail of a full careers assessment and investigation will complete a minimum of two assessment methods as part of the process. The consultation will differ slightly depending on the cohort of student.
For the Junior Certificate (JC) and Transition Year Student(TY):
This consultation will furnish the student with subject recommendations based on careers of interest and subjects that best meet the need of the student in their studies for Senior Cycle and thereafter.
For the Senior Cycle Student or the International Baccalaureate Student.
The goal here is to bring the student to a place where they can make an informed decision about their careers, allowing them to develop a preference list. A CAO will be drafted for the student based on this preference list.
Where necessary we will explore options such as study abroad particularly in the UK and Europe, apprenticeships, tertiary degrees and PLCs. Put simply each student will leave with a full plan of action on what to do next.
Are you a student who knows what you want to do but needs some clarity on your chosen area, help sorting out course options and completing your CAO?
This session focuses on the specific career of interest and supporting the student through course choices and the completion of their CAO. There is no assessment methods used in this consultation.
